This event offers an opportunity for providers in primary care and other settings to learn the basics of cancer genetics from an expert team. Attendees will gain the tools necessary to recognize individuals at increased risk of hereditary cancer, connect patients to genetic services, and integrate cancer genetics into their practice, including the management of individuals with known hereditary syndromes including Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer and Lynch syndrome. Additional topics will include an update on direct-to-consumer testing companies like 23andMe, genetic testing and insurance, and the latest in genetics for cancer prevention and treatment.
