Grand Rounds Webinar Series: Leveraging Stress to Enhance Performance: Reframing Stress & Behavior

Webinar

Description:
Traditional approaches to stress management often focus on reducing or eliminating stressors.  However, recognizing stress cycle patterns, harnessing the body’s adaptive stress response, and leveraging these insights when counseling patients can improve the effectiveness and sustainability of interventions.

Through this presentation, participants will learn to apply principles utilized in training elite athletes, tactical specialists, physicians, and other high-performance professionals to move beyond stress reduction, and toward a comprehensive, physiological understanding of stress.  By integrating the concepts of General Adaptation Syndrome and holistic stressor analysis, clinicians can better support all patients—and themselves—in transforming stress from a liability into a tool for growth and long-term behavior change.
