Description:  Helping patients navigate their insurance coverage is an important piece for success in all medical practices.  Medical insurance is a contract with the subscriber, but most plans do not help a subscriber/patient understand the difference between co-payment, co-insurance, deductible and plan maximums. Kathy Jo Uecker, CMPE, EFPM, NCP, CPC, COC, AAPC Fellow, CHSPA, CHSA, will provide some ideas on how she has been able to bring clarity to this for patients and practices. She will jump into all the "lingo" that third party insurance carriers use and put it into simple terms that staff can use to help their patients better understand their obligations and responsibilities.
