Description:  Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs), also known as red flag orders, are civil court orders designed to prevent firearm injury and death by temporarily restricting access to firearms for those who are at risk of harming themselves or others. 21 states, including Michigan, have an ERPO law in place, and when implemented well, ERPOs have shown to be a life-saving measure.
