Grand Rounds Webinar Series: Understanding and Applying the Latest Cervical Cancer Screening Guidelines
Webinar
Description:
This presentation provides a review of modern cervical cancer screening strategies. We will begin by reviewing the fundamental impact of HPV infection on cervical cancer development and outlining the current epidemiology of HPV infections across the United States.
The session focuses on critically evaluating screening modalities, comparing the benefits and potential harms of traditional co-testing (HPV and cytology) versus primary HPV testing. Furthermore, we will assess the optimal triage reflex test options for both self-screening and in office exam, specifically contrasting the diagnostic utility of CINtec plus (p16/Ki-67 dual stain) against conventional cytology.
Finally, attendees will gain actionable knowledge for seamlessly integrating primary HPV testing into daily clinical practice, with a focus on leveraging self-sampling techniques to overcome patient barriers, improve acceptance, and increase overall screening completion rates.
