Grand Rounds Webinar Series: What Does "Value" Mean for Health Equity?

Webinar

Description: This presentation will address the question, What is the value proposition of health equity work?  In a context where there is heavy emphasis on the value derived from healthcare, remarks will focus on questions such as, What constitutes value?  Who gets to decide?  The assertion will be put forth that traditional ROI is an incomplete metric for assessing the value derived from health equity investments and that relying on traditional approaches, which focus on direct short-term financial returns, to make decisions about investments in health equity risks underinvestment in interventions that have the potential to produce sustainable improvements in health, close disparity gaps, and enhance the long-term financial condition of healthcare institutions.
