This presentation provides a comprehensive, clinically grounded overview of pediatric Long COVID and related post-infectious conditions. Drawing on emerging research and years of clinical experience, Melanie Hoppers, MD, Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, Bateman Horne Center of Excellence, reviews current definitions, prevalence, and risk factors for Long COVID and ME/CFS in children and adolescents, with particular attention to post-exertional malaise, orthostatic intolerance, and common comorbid conditions such as mast cell activation. The session emphasizes practical diagnostic frameworks, evidence-informed management strategies, and accommodations that can improve function-based outcomes and quality of life for affected patients in pediatric and primary care settings.
